Cambrian Paleomap

Cambpalgeo.jpeg

Dr. Ron Blakey's paleogeographic reconstruction of the shallow sea covered most of Utah during the Cambrian period. Sediments were shed from the mountains to the east and accumulated along the continental margins. The sands, forming the Tintic, were deposited closest to the shoreline. The finer-grained particles of the Ophir formation settled further off the coast.
