Cambrian Globe

During the Cambrian Period, North America lies mostly south of the equator. Utah was completely covered by a shallow warm sea. The continent was migrating to the north and rotating counterclockwise. The thick sands were piling up along the continental margins. (Paleo globe by Dr. Ron Blakey)
