Glacial Plucking

Plucking occurs at the base of the glacier as the ice drags along an uneven surface.  The weight and moving force of the ice will break the bedrock and incorporate the fragments into the glacier. They will be transported downslope until they are deposited. (Illustration by Eric Christiansen and Ken Hamblin).
