Lindy Miller just finished her sophomore year in the Department of Geological Sciences at BYU. She is from Provo and enjoys painting. Lindy is obsessed with Bollywood movies, and if you are looking for the most extra action movie you have ever seen, she recommends Bang Bang.
She was originally an environmental science major but switched to geology. Lindy is hoping to do something with soil health or natural disasters. She is currently working with professor Ron Harris studying natural disasters. Professor Harris focuses on natural disaster awareness in places like Indonesia which is fitting for Lindy because she wants to work in India one day. She is taking classes in Hindu and this summer she is doing language studies there!
She loves geology because it is one of the few science degrees you can dig holes and call science. Lindy enjoys that geology is more observation-focused with lots of lab and fieldwork. She loves that geology lets you become historians of the planet, natural historians.
