Students camping in Italy

Friday, June 1, 2007

In 2007, Jeff Keith led the Annual Hamblin Global Geology field trip to study volcanism and sedimentology in Italy. Areas visited were Mt. Etna, Stromboli, Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum. Dr. Summer Rupper led a fieldwork study of glacier dynamic and decline on the Gornergrat glacier in the Zermatt area of Switzerland. Her newest study details how a group of Himalayan glaciers grew despite a significant rise in temperatures.
