As you enter Rock  Canyon you will notice on the north side a grassy slope capped by a dark brown layer of rock.  This is the Mineral Fork Tillite.  These rocks are Late Precambrian (about 800 million years old) in age and the oldest in the canyon.  This portion of your trip will discuss the glacial environment that deposited these rocks.   You will see animations and images of modern places that could be similar to the way Utah looked 650 million years ago.
